ACA 136th Congress of Correction – Charlotte, NC August 15, 2006

Workshop: "Evidence-Based Practices from Institutions to the Community: Why it Matters”

Workshop Description: Seamless transition from institutions to community corrections is crucial to successful offender reentry. This workshop addressed the critical role evidence-based practices play in transitioning offenders and reducing recidivism upon their return to the community. The Oregon Department of Corrections and Dutchess County, New York Sheriff’s Office Jail Division were highlighted as examples of systems in which evidence-based practices are being used to improve system effectiveness.
